About Spirit Point Medicine:

Shannon Conrad, L.Ac., M.Ac.
I first became interested in Acupuncture during a college semester abroad in Beijing, where I found my university situated next to publishing house that focused on Chinese Traditional Medical texts. I would visit the attached bookstore every week or so, and pour over the Acupuncture texts, and pictures of what I considered (at the time) to be a very unusual practice. I was fascinated with the Chinese conception of balance on the mind body and spirit levels, and watching doctors treat people with acupuncture, herbs and moxa on the streets of China only deepened my curiosity.
I am a classically trained Five-Element Acupuncturist with a master’s degree from the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Maryland. I hold a master’s degree in Chinese Studies from Columbia University and John Hopkins University SAIS-Nanjing center, and have done extensive post-graduate acupuncture training with Niki Bilton.
In my free time I volunteer for the Ongiara Foundation, and enjoy travel, wine tasting, and spending time with my husband, two kids and recently-adopted pandemic puppy. I have been in practice since 2007.
